Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of Gramaru (the "Service"), a Japanese-learning application. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

You need an account to use Gramaru, including the free tier. You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you're under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you should only use the Service with the involvement of a parent or guardian.

Gramaru offers a free tier and a paid "Pro" tier, billed monthly, yearly, or as a one-time lifetime purchase. Prices are shown on the pricing page at the time of purchase. Monthly and yearly subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled; a lifetime purchase is a single one-time payment with no recurring charge.

You can manage or cancel your subscription from your account page. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep Pro access through the end of the period you already paid for. If you have trouble managing your subscription, email support@tappuri.com and we'll help directly.

Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable, including partial periods and lifetime purchases. If you believe you were charged in error, contact support and we'll look into it.

Don't misuse the Service: no scraping or automated bulk access outside normal use, no attempting to bypass paywalls or security measures, no reselling or redistributing the content, and no using the Service for anything unlawful.

Your review history and progress data belong to you. We use it to run the spaced-repetition engine and show your progress; see our Privacy Policy for details on what's collected and how it's stored.

The lessons, kanji data, grammar explanations, and other learning material in Gramaru are owned by us or our licensors and are provided for your personal, non-commercial learning use.

We aim to keep Gramaru available and reliable, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted access. We may add, change, or remove features, and may update these Terms from time to time; if we make material changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page.

The Service is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

You can stop using the Service and close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

Gramaru is operated by Tappuri. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in New York, and you consent to that jurisdiction.
