N3 is the famous bridge level, where Japanese turns abstract. You'll master the conjecture forms (よう・らしい・そう), reasoning connectors (わけ・はず・ため), degree and contrast patterns, and the passive-causative, plus your first keigo, ~370 new kanji, and the vocabulary of society, economy, and emotion. This is where you start reading simplified news and expressing shades of meaning, not just facts.

This track fills the gap with the highest-frequency everyday words - smartphones and the internet, the convenience store, set phrases, food and eating out, feelings and reactions, getting around town. It opens once you've finished N3, same as Frequency.

N2 is the level employers ask for - the register turns formal and written. You'll take on the compound particles (〜に関して・に基づいて・を通じて), concession and cause patterns (〜ものの・にもかかわらず・おかげで), and precise timing and stance forms (〜次第・かねない・ざるを得ない), plus the vocabulary of business, economy, science, and abstract argument. This is where you handle newspapers and sound deliberate rather than translated.
